Well prepared and fully serviced we left New Zealand May 12th for Tanna/Vanuatu
Gut vorbereitet in bestem technischen Zustand verliessen wir Neuseeland am 12. Mai nach Tanna/Vanuatu
May 15th we had to turn around due to broken & stuck main halyard, leaking bilge pump and loose shrouds (after renewal). Arrival May 19th - 1 week and 806 nm for nothing.
Am 15. Mai mußten wir umkehren wegen des gerissenen und verklemmten Großfalls, einer undichten Bilgenpumpe sowie viel zu lockeren Wanten - nach deren Erneuerung Ankunft 19 Mai - 1 Woche und 806 Semeilen für die Katz.
Second departure May 30th with first possible and by professional metereoligist confirmed weather window. Instead of predicted force 5-6 we faced force 9 with quickly changing wind directions and breaking waves. Wind measurement and autopilot failed.
Zweiter Anlauf am 30 Mai mit durch einen professionelle Metereologen bestätigten einzig möglichem Wetterfenster. Anstelle der vorhergesagten 5-6 Winstärken erlebten wir Windstärke 9 mit wechelnden Windrichtungen und brechender See. Die Windmessungen und der Autopilot setzte aus.
